The appointment of Donna Brazile as Interim Chair of the DNC is a correct and timely response to the controversy over the DNC emails, apparently hacked by Russian agencies. The leaks were clearly designed to divide the Democratic party on the eve of the Convention but Brazile is respected by all as a straight arrow, given her record during 17 years as Vice Chair of the DNC. Brazile has said the "stupidity" exposed in the DNC emails "needs to be addressed".
Speaking from Philadelphia on the Sunday evening before the Convention, Andrew Tobias, DNC Treasurer, told Voices4Hillary that he had served beside Donna for 17 years and that, above all, "she is driven by a passion for justice and will unite Hillary and Bernie supporters to ensure we win in November." Tobias noted that Donna was Al Gore's campaign manager in 2000 "when we really did win, but this time we are determined to win big!".
Responding to questions on Meet the Press (July 24), Senator Bernie Sanders said, "We're going to focus on defeating the worst Republican candidate I've seen a in a lifetime. We've got to elect Secretary Clinton."
