Today, December 22, 2018, the internet was abuzz with the news that Parkland Massacre survivor and activist David Hogg was accepted to his first choice college, Harvard University.
The date of his acceptance suggests he was an Early Admission acceptee for the Harvard class of 2023. The previous year, acceptance for the Class of 2022, was 14.5 percent of the 6,630 applicants for early admission. There is no known information about Hogg's admissions class.
Hogg, one of the Parkland survivors, spent much of his time from the day of Parkland Florida Massacre on February 14, 2018 through the mid-term elections on November 6, 2018 crisscrossing the country urging young people to register and vote against candidates opposed to gun control. Hogg was co-founder of the #NeverAgain movement and the #MarchforOurLives which resulted in record youth registration and turnout across America for the Blue Wave this fall. The Blue Wave resulted in a return to Democratic control of the House of Representatives.
While there are many fine schools in America, Hogg's acceptance to the college almost universally thought to be the most prestigious in America, brings its own sweet revenge to Hogg and his supporters.
Earlier in the year [March 2018], Laura Ingraham, Fox News Commentator, mocked his college rejections from some University of California campuses. These rejections were likely caused because California state schools offer limited availability to out of state students.
At that time, Hogg fought back and Ingraham lost the bulk of her advertisers and had to apologize to him.
Katrina Pierson, a senior advisor to Trump, also attacked the Parkland activist about his applications too.
Here is what the New York Post wrote at that time too - “David Hogg having trouble getting into college after high school," March 28, 2018.
Some state colleges in California are apparently not impressed by the Parkland high school shooting survivor who helped become a voice for a global gun control movement.
David Hogg, 17, has so far been rejected by four University of California campuses — UCLA, UCSD, UCSB and UC Irvine, he told TMZ.
According to the UC site, a minimum 3.4 GPA is required for non-California residents to get in. The Florida teen has a 4.2 GPA and an SAT score of 1270.
He's been accepted to Cal State San Marcos and Cal Poly, and in his home state, Florida Atlantic University — but he's not yet sure what he'll do after graduating, he said.
"At this point, we're already changing the world," Hogg, a senior at Stoneman Douglas High School, told the outlet. "If colleges want to support us in that, great, if they don't, it doesn't matter, we're still going to change the world."

Today, the N.Y. Post wrote, “Parkland Survivor David Hogg reveals he is headed to Harvard in the fall."
Parkland shooting survivor and anti-gun activist David Hogg is heading to Harvard.
The graduate of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School — where 17 students were shot and killed in February — took to Twitter to share the news of his acceptance.
"Thank you all for the well wishes, I'll be attending Harvard in the fall with a planned major in Political Science," Hogg tweeted Saturday morning.
Hogg and other Parkland survivors were launched into the national spotlight as they fought for gun control after the shooting.
Jaclyn Corin, another Parkland survivor, tweeted this week that she was also accepted into Harvard.

Hogg, 17 at the time of the massacre, now 18, has faced other attacks too because of his outspokenness and activism, besides those by Ingram and Pierson, some threatening physical violence to him and his family.
On Thursday, a 78 year old Florida man, Warren Bond who had written a threatening letter to Hogg's mother in June, was arrested.
According to the December 21 Sun Sentinel, the letter, addressed to Rebecca Boldrick, arrived in the mail on the late afternoon of June 25. It had no return address and "contained a single sentence in large, bold, typed letters," according to a court document.
"Keep F------ with the NRA and you will be DOA," it said.
Congratulations, David Hogg.
Do all the good you can do, David, for as long as you can.
We admire your courage, strength, character and intelligence.
We are with you always. Proud.
