There are only 42 days until the election, and we have our work cut out for us. Earlier this year, a study found that one in five LGBTQ people were not registered to vote for the 2020 election. [1] We need to get every eligible LGBTQ person registered to vote!
But we need your help to make that happen today, on National Voter Registration Day.
Check your voter registration nowand then identify 3 friends or family members andget them registered to vote.
Voter registration numbers are down across the board, as many of the ways we reach new voters -- like voter registration drives and door-to-door canvassing -- mostly aren't possible in a pandemic. [2]
That means that now more than ever, it's up to us individually to reach out to people we know and make sure they're registered to vote.
Our right to vote is a privilege and a responsibility, and it's never been more important to make our voices heard -- and encourage the people in our lives to do the same. We've won a lot of battles toward LGBTQ equality, but we could lose that progress if we turn out every voter we can.
Even if you think you're registered or have cast a ballot recently, you may not be on the voter rolls -- so it's important to check. You can verify your registration here.
You can also make a meaningful impact on our democracy by reaching out to 3 friends or family members you thinkmight not be registered -- maybe they just turned 18, recently moved, or have never participated in the political process before.
Here are two helpful links that you can send them (it's as easy as copy-paste!):
Register to vote:

Double-check that you're registered: https://www.prideatwork.org/action/register/verify-your-voter-registration/
By bringing a new voter onto the rolls, you can make a difference -- not only for this election, but for all elections going forward.
Thanks for all you do,
Jerame
